With the first month of the season winding down the St. Louis Blues currently sit in second place in the central division and third place in the western conference. Full league standing go to https://www.nhl.com/standings The blues started the year hot with three straight wins against the Chicago Blackhawks, Minnesota Wild, and New York rangers but since then have been hot and cold exchanging wins and losses every other game ending up with a 5-2-2 record. The stereotypical St. Louis Blues team is led by blue collar players and this year appears to be a bit different. During the offseason the blues picked up players like David Perron and Nail Yakupov who have no shortage of high-end skill. These players should amp up the offensive resulting in nearly forty more goals This link gives all f the transactions made during the 2016 season thus far thus far http://www.espn.com/nhl/team/transactions/_/name/stl/st-louis-blues I believe with this new look to the offense the blues will have a much greater amount of success and will make the blues one of the most lethal teams in the west.

Currently Vladimir Tarasenko, who is known for his blistering snap shot, sits at the top of the team in points earning his living on the power play with four with an extra man. He had a season career high in goals last season with forty and should be right around those same totals this season if he avoids injury.

Jaden Schwartz

A blues fan should feel very optimistic of the season with a good start to the season and the return of Tarasenko’s line-mate Jaden Schwartz to the lineup. http://archauthority.com/2016/10/20/jaden-schwartz-return-st-louis-blues-lineup-thursday/ This should impact the offense of the blues profoundly. Schwartz was a vital piece of the Blues offense in the 2015-2016 season and helped to lead the team to the western conference finals. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=33907 The blues will continue to run on all cylinders through November and December but we will have to see if Coach Ken Hitchcock can keep them going when the tough months in the middle of the season take a toll on the players.

  1. Do you think the Blues will be able to be a top team in the west with the likes of LA, Anaheim, San Jose and even Edmonton emerging with their young talent?
